The film, starring Sara Ali Khan in the lead, is a gripping thriller where. In the film, Sara portrays the character of Usha Mehta, a freedom fighter.
Sara Ali Khan and Karan Johar shared the exciting motion poster on their respective social media handles on November 20. The poster showcases Sara’s character passionately speaking into a microphone. Sara expressed her enthusiasm in the caption. She wrote, “Aazad aawazein, qaid nahi hoti. Presenting the motion poster of a film very very dear to my heart. A story of bravery that I believe deserves to be told- and I’m honoured to be a part of that telling.”

The motion poster was unveiled during the opening ceremony of IFFI 2023, where singer Sukhwinder Singh graced the stage to perform a patriotic song from the movie, ‘Qatra Qatra,’ winning hearts of the audience.
Helmed by Kannan Iyer, ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is inspired by true events. The story narrated the courageous journey of a college girl in Bombay who grows up to become a freedom fighter. Set against the backdrop of the Quit India Movement in 1942, the film is a tale of valor. It is produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, with Somen Mishra as the co-producer. The much anticipated movie is scheduled to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
