Priyanka Chopra steps on-board as Executive Producer for Oscar nominated ‘To kill a Tiger’
In recent news, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has joined the team of Oscar nominated “To Kill a Tiger” as the film’s executive producer. Along with her, notable names like Dev Patel and Mindy Kaling have also come on board.
This piece of news surfaces mere hours after OTT giant Netflix claimed the digital rights of the docu-feature film. Priyanka Chopra took to her official handle on Instagram to share her excitement over her latest project. Sharing a screenshot from an international bulletin, PeeCee wrote, “I’m so proud to join the incredible team of the Academy Award nominated documentary.”
Priyanka Chopra further wrote, “When I first watched ‘To kill a Tiger’ in 2022, I was immediately captivated by its poignant narrative, depicting a father’s valiant struggle within the judicial system to secure justice for his daughter. Earlier today, the buzz had it that OTT giant Netflix has secured the digital rights of ‘To kill a Tiger.’ The Oscar nominated film has been helmed by Nisha Pahuja. The docu-feature film narrates the story of the father of a 13 year old rape victim in Jharkhand and his long and lonely fight for justice.”
The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022 and was awarded best documentary at Palm Springs.
The 127-minute film charts the emotional journey of Ranjit, a farmer in Jharkhand, whose determined effort forces a social reckoning after his 13-year-old daughter is the victim of a gang rape.
