Bhubaneswar: Odia sprinter and Olympian Dutee Chand, who was recently in news after revealing that she is in a same-sex relationship, has revealed that several filmmakers have been approaching her to buy the rights for her biopic. However, she hasn’t given a nod to anyone yet.
“I have got requests from so many filmmakers who are keen to make my biopic, but I haven’t given the nod yet. Apart from Anil Kapoor and Rakeysh Mehra, a lot of actors and actresses have independently reached out. With the number of requests coming my way, lagta hai meri story bahut hit hogi,” Dutee said.
On being asked who according to her would be perfect to portray her on the big screen, she said, “”I think Priyanka Chopra did a very good job in Mary Kom. While I don’t know who will eventually be selected, I think Kangana Ranaut can portray me perfectly on screen, I like her as an actress.”
When Kangana got to hear about Dutee’s wish, she said, “That’s very kind of Dutee ji. I am humbled that she feels I am worthy of playing her.”
On the work front, Dutee Chand will soon visit Italy. The ace athlete will represent Bhubaneswar’s KIIT University at the World University Games.
The event will take place from July 3-14.
