Mumbai: Rohit Shetty’s next film ‘Sooryavanshi’ starring Akshay Kumar has generated quite a buzz. Earlier, it was reported that ‘Neerja’ actress Sonam Kapoor has been roped in to play the female lead in the film. However, the makers have finally zeroed in Katrina Kaif to star opposite Akshay in the film.
Both the actors have delivered blockbusters in the past like ‘Namastey London’, ‘Welcome’ and ‘Singh is King’.
Akshay Kumar welcomed Katrina on board and posted about it on Twitter. The actor wrote, “Welcome to our COP UNIVERSE #KatrinaKaif…OUR SOORYAVANSHI GIRL #RohitShetty @karanjohar @RelianceEnt @RSPicturez @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms.”

Katrina Kaif shared the same picture on her Instagram and wrote, “Super excited to join the team of Sooryavanshi with the incredible @itsrohitshetty for the first time, can’t wait to be back on set with @akshaykumar after soooooo long my 1st film with @dharmamovies and @karanjohar @reliance.entertainment @rohitshettypicturez @dharmamovies #CapeOfGoodFilms.”
Noteworthy, Akshay and Katrina are reuniting on the big screen after nine years. They were last seen in Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’.
