Gadar 2 box office collection: Film touches whopping 40 crore mark on Day 1

Gadar 2 has shown an impressive start at the box office. The film earned a staggering Rs 40 crore on its very first day. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma in lead roles.

Gadar 2 is filled with amazing performances and powerful dialogues. Apart from Sunny Deol as Tara Singh and Ameesha Patel as Sakeena, the iconic hand pump can also be seen reprising its role in the film.

The film is a sequel to the 2001 film, ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.’ The film is set back in the 1970s, during the Crush India Movement in 1971. The storyline of Gadar 2 shows Tara Singh going all the way to Pakistan in order to rescue his son, Charan Jeet Singh, from the Pakistani Army. Charan’s character in the film is portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma.

Apart from a love story, Gadar 2 also narrates the tale of hatred between India and Pakistan told from the lens of a father-son bond. The ffilm shows Sunny Deol back in a role that made history with its first part. ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ became a box office hit along with Lagaan. Both the films were released on June 15, 2001.
