Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya Rajnikanth announces separation after 18 years of togetherness

Chennai: Actor Dhanush on Monday announced that he and his wife Aishwarya have decided to part their ways after 18 years of togetherness as friends, couples and as parents.

The actor took to his social media account Twitter and announced it to the fans. He wrote,” 18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other..The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting…Today we stand at a place where our paths separate…Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better.”

Aishwarya also shared the statement on her instagram account and wrote in the caption, “No caption needed…only your understanding n your love necessary!”

Dhanush and Aishwarya tied the knot on November 18, 2004. They have two sons, Yatra and Linga who were born in 2006 and 2010 respectively.

Dhanush worked in Aishwaryaa’s directorial debut “3” and the song “Kolaveri Di” from the film, which became an instant hit.
