Chennai: Amid Cyclone Michaung causing havoc in Chennai, Bollywood actors Aamir Khan and Vishnu Vishal were rescued after being stranded for hours in Chennai flood.
Actor Vishnu Vishal took to his social media handles and revealed that he along with Aamir Khan were rescued by fire and rescue team after being stranded in Chennai flood. He shared a picture on social media, which revealed that Vishal along with Aamir Khan and Vishal’s wife, badminton player Jwala Gutta, were rescued.
Sharing the pictures, Vishal captioned, “Thanks to the fire and rescue department in helping people like us who are stranded. Rescue operations have started in karapakkam..Saw 3 boats functioning already. Great work by TN govt in such testing times. Thanks to all the administrative people who are working relentlessly.”
Earlier, Vishal had revealed that he was stranded in Karapakkam. A few hours back, he had written, “Water is entering my house and the level is rising badly in karapakkam. I have called for help. No electricity no wifi. No phone signal. Nothing. Only on terrace at a particular point I get some signal. Lets hope i and so many here get some help I can feel for people all over Chennai.”
Meanwhile, as of 11 pm on Monday, the “Severe Cyclone Michaung” lies 130 km North of Chennai, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The cyclone is likely to move parallel to the South Andhra coast and cross between Nellore and Machilipatnam on the forenoon of December 5 as a severe cyclonic storm.
Over 9,000 people evacuated as Andhra braced for the landfall.
Rain has stopped in Chennai, but most parts of the city remains submerged, with heavy inundation in low-lying areas.
