Aamir Khan reveals reason behind separation with Kiran Rao
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan often avoids interviews, and participate in very less social events. However, he recently came forward to have a conversation with News18 India. In the interview, he shade some light on his split with Kiran Rao.
Reportedly, he mentioned that he and Kiran still love one another with a great amount of mutual respect and fondness. It is difficult for people to understand how he could have such cordial equations with his ex-wife. This is because, usually, they don’t see a bond like this among couples who separate, the star said to the channel.
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao separated last year. He revealed that the both had a really long discussion on the matter before making the decision. The two consider each other as family, and are still very close to each other’s families. However, their relationship as husband and wife changed and they wanted to give respect to the institution of marriage. He further said that, they are holding each other’s hands and moving ahead.
The two seem to be working together, as they collaborated on projects of the Paani Foundation. On the other hand, Kiran, reportedly, lives in the same building as the actor.
Aamir also mentioned his relationship with his first wife, Reena Dutta, and said that he feels lucky to be on good terms with both his ex wives. He said that Reena and he got married very young and have grown up together. However, after their split they have managed to remain good friends and that is because she is a good person and feels that Aamir is a good human being as well. “Me, Kiran ji, Reena ji and Satyajit Bhatkal have collaborated on the Paani Foundation. In short, Reena ji and I are also working together,” the ‘Ghajini’ star said.
Aamir said that where couples are often seen fighting after separation, thankfully that wasn’t the case with any of his ex-wives. The actor also clarified that he although he met Kiran during the making of Lagaan (2001), they did not know each other very well by then. He was married to Reena by that time and did not date anyone as long as they were together.
The superstar then talked about all of their relationships with their kids and said that the family cared for all the children. They do not wish to cause any pain or turmoil to Junaid, Ira or Azad.
On work front, Aamir will soon be seen with Kareena Kapoor Khan in Laal Singh Chaddha. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film also stars Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh.
