Stock market today: Sensex sheds 250 points, Nifty falls below 21,000

New Delhi: Wednesday witnessed negative trading in the domestic stock market indices in the early session. Sensex has dropped from the high of 70000 mark after a rally of nearly a week. With a decline of over 200 points, the 30-share BSE Sensex declined by 0.18 per cent to trade at 69,428.
Meanwhile, the broader NSE Nifty has also fallen from all-time of 21,000. Nifty opened at 20,882 with a decline of 24 points or 0.11 per cent.
The fall in the stock market was due to the worries of delay in rate cuts.
Bank of India, Adani Total Gas, Sonata Software, Suntech Realty, and Paytm were the major losers.
Meanwhile, NTPC, UltraTech Cement, Eicher Motors, Hero MotoCorp, and Power Grid Corporation of India were among the top gaining stocks today.
