Skoda Karoq facelift unveiled in the global markets, Check the new updates of the SUV

Skoda Karoq which is the second most popular SUV offered the company (globally) has received a facelift and has been unveiled today. Since its launch in 2017, it is the first time when the SUV is getting a facelift. The SUV will get updates in terms of interior as well as exterior. The facelift Skoda Karoq will be available in three trims- Active, Ambition and Style. Skoda will also offer a Sportline version of the SUV.

When it comes to the engine, the Skoda Karoq is offered in four new variants-1.0-litre TSI unit, a 1.5-litre TSI EVO unit, 2.0-litre TSI and 2.0-litre TDI. The 1.0-litre TSI engine offers maximum power of 110 hp and a peak torque of 200 Nm. The 1.5-litre TSI engine generates 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 2.0-litre TSI engine offers 190 hp power and a torque of 320 Nm. The 2.0-litre TDI engine offers 150 hp of power and a peak torque of 360 Nm.

The new version of the SUV will be 4390mm in length, while the height and width of the SUV remains the same. The wheelbase of the SUV is 2638mm for the front-wheel drive variants while the four wheel drive variant measures 2630mm.The company offers the SUV with alloy wheels, which range from 17 to 19 inches.

When it comes to interior, the Skoda Karoq does not get many changes. The dashboard remains the same as the previous model. The display units of the Karoq have been upgraded. The SUV gets an 8-inch standard digital instrument cluster and can be upgraded to bigger 10.25-inch screen. The touchscreen infotainment system becomes 8-inches and can be upgraded to 9.2-inches. The new Skoda Karoq gets digital voice assistant which is present in the Skoda Laura. A range of 15 languages are available on the voice assistant.

Safety features on the Skoda Karoq include 360-degree camera, active lane assist, cruise control, start-stop function for traffic jams, blind spot vehicle detection, automatic emergency braking, nine air brakes etc.

It is quite unfortunate that the new Skoda Karoq will not go on sale in India. Zac Hollis, Brand Director, Skoda India, had earlier confirmed that the company has no plans to introduce Skoda Karoq in India.
