Tata Safari gets some important features in its latest software update

The new Tata Safari is perhaps one of the top selling SUVs offered by Tata Motors in India. The sales of Safari have been good in comparison to its competitors like MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV700. However there have been numerous instances where it has been found that the Tata Safari lags behind its competitors in terms of features. The company (Tata Motors) has recently announced some software updates for the Safari.

The software update on the Tata Safari provides an upgrade in terms of some important features which will be really handy in the day to day life. The upgrades are meant for the top spec trim of the mid-size SUV. The software update includes wireless charging and wireless Android Auto. The wireless charging on the Tata Safari makes convenience for those users who have smartphones with wireless charging feature. The charging of those smartphones will now be hassle-free. The charging pad is present in front of the gear shifter in the centre console.

The other important important update is the introduction of wireless Android Auto. Through the wireless Android Auto feature, the occupants can connect to the internet using their smartphone or laptops. Another newly added feature is the addition of cabin air quality index (AQI) display. It measures the rates of quality of air inside the cabin of the car.

There is however, no difference in the engine specifications of the Safari. The Tata Safari is powered by a 2.0-litre, turbo-diesel engine that produces 168 hp of power and 350 nm of torque. Users can opt from manual and automatic transmission options, according to their choice.

Safety features that are provided in the Safari include six airbags, traction control, electronic stability program, an electronic parking brake and much more. The leather upholstery in the car gets a dual-tone theme.

In terms of price the Tata Safari SUV costs between Rs 14.99 lakh to Rs 23.19 lakh (avg ex-showroom, across India).
