Sensex trades over 71,730 mark, Nifty tops 21,510

At 10.10am, the Sensex was up by 393.92 points or 0.55 per cent at 71,730.72 while the Nifty 50 was at 21,555.90.

New Delhi: On Wednesday, the Indian equity benchmarks 30-share BSE Sensex and broader NSE Nifty started the trading session in green after the holiday break.

In the opening session, the Sensex gained over 280 points or 0.40 per cent to trade at 71,624, while the Nifty climbed 88 points or 0.41 per cent up to trade at 21,529.

All the sectors were trading in positive territory today. The Mid- and small-cap, and Nifty Midcap 100 gained today.

At 10.10 am, the Sensex was up by 393.92 points or 0.55 per cent at 71,730.72 while the Nifty 50 was at 21,555.90 with gain of 114.55 points or 0.53 per cent.

The major gainers in the Nifty were UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, L&T and LTIMindtree.

Meanwhile, Britannia, Asian Paints, Sun Pharma, NTPC and Apollo Hospitals were among the top losers.
