New record of 8.18 crore ITRs filed by December 31, 2023 for 2023-24
It is to be noted that 7.51 crore ITRs had been filed up to December 31, 2022
New Delhi: A new record of 8.18 crore ITRs were filed by December 31, 2023 for the Assessment Year (AY) 2023-24. It was informed in a X post by ANI on Monday quoting a report by the Central Board of Direct Taxes.
It is to be noted that 7.51 crore ITRs had been filed up to December 31, 2022 while this year’s number is 8.18 crore, which is 9% more than the total ITRs filed for AY 2022-23.
Apart from this, the total number of audit reports and other forms filed by December end of 2023 for the year 2023-24 is 1.60 crore. This number was reportedly 1.43 last year. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) report said.
