Honda unveils new Honda HR-V Electric ahead of launch, Know the specifications

Honda Motors has finally unveiled the new Electric Honda HR-V. It is important to mention that this new vehicle is specially meant for Chinese markets. The version that was revealed earlier in this year was meant for the markets of Europe and Japan. The contrasting difference that stands apart from the Chinese and the Europe variants is the type of powertrain. While the Europe’s model is a hybrid powertrain, the Chinese model is totally electric.

It is important to note that, a different HR-V is being designed specifically for the US market. However, the variant does not have a launch date. The electric Honda HR-V will be called e: NS1, revealed the badging on the vehicle.

In terms of specifications, the electric HR-V will have an electric motor producing 201 horsepower, and provide a top speed of 93 mph. The vehicle packs a battery of 68.8-kWh. However, the range of the vehicle is expected to be around 500 km.

The weight of the vehicle is 4,647 pounds and it features a distinguishing design than its sibling. The electric vehicle gets a new grille, new bumpers, new taillights and 18-inch wheels. It is important to mention that the charging port is located under the front Honda logo.

The Europe variant on the other hand has a hybrid powertrain which combines two electric motors and a 1.5-liter gasoline engine. It derives a maximum power of 129 hp. On the other hand, the new HR-V scheduled to launch in America is expected to be offered in multiple choices. The American HR-V will be offered in hybrid and plug-in hybrid options along with a refreshed design.
