Bounce Infinity Electric Scooter to get launched in India on December 2, Booking cost at just Rs 499

Scooter rental service start-up Bounce has announced the launch dates for its upcoming electric scooter in India. First electric scooter from Bounce will be launched on December 2, 2021. The company plans to deliver the electric scooter in India in 2022. However, the dates on which the company will start delivering the scooters is yet unknown.

According to the company, the electric scooter is Made in India and features an option for swappable battery. The booking amount for this electric scooter is kept as low as Rs 499 in India. Users have an option to drive their Bounce electric scooter to the battery swapping stations and change the batteries. If the users opt for an option to purchase the scooter without a battery, the significant cost will come down by at least 40 percent. That makes the scooter quite affordable in comparison to one with battery.

The manufacturing of the batteries as well as the battery management system will be done in India, said Bounce. The company further stated that the cells in the battery pack will be imported mostly from Panasonic and LG Chem. The batteries can be rented by the customers, instead of purchasing it with the scooter. On exhausting the charge of the battery, customers will have to replace it at battery swapping stations. This will bring down the final price of the electric scooter.

If you are wondering how the company is planning to enter the electric vehicle market, you will be surprised to know that it acquired 22Motors in the recent future. The acquisition by Bounce took place a month ago at an approximate value of Rs 52 crores (USD 7 million). Hence, Bounce has acquired manufacturing plant at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan which has an annual manufacturing capacity of 1, 20,000. The company further plans to set-up a manufacturing plant in the Southern India.

Bounce offers daily, weekly, monthly, annually rental plans to cater the needs of its customers. The prices of subscription per day start as low as Rs 300. The bike rental service of Bounce is available in cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mysore, Vadodara, Vijayawada, Jaipur etc.

Post its launch the Bounce electric scooter will compete with the likes of Ola Electric, Ather Energy, Hero Electric and several other brands selling electric bikes.
