2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno to get a major facelift, check leaked image

The new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift can be the next major thing in the Indian automotive market. The premium hatchback offered by Maruti Suzuki has been one of the company’s bestselling cars and is scheduled to get an update soon. Some of the leaked images of the upcoming vehicle has surfaced on the internet and we can see some design changes.

According to the leaked images we can see a cosmetic enhancement on the 2022 Baleno. Both the front and the rear of the vehicle get some upgrades in terms of design. The car looks visibly wider than the current model. The new Baleno is equipped with L shaped headlamps which get LED DRLs. Depending on the variant; the 2022 Baleno will get projector head-lamps. The hood gets a clamshell design and is flat. On the rear there are no fog lamps or wiper for the windshield. The rear lights are redesigned and it includes LED tail lamps and LED stop lamps. We do expect that Maruti Suzuki will give the 2022 Baleno a fresh set of allow wheels.

Under the hood, it is highly unlikely that the newer Baleno will sport a new engine. Like other Maruti cars the 2022 Maruti Baleno will be based on the new Heartect platform. Users will be offered a choice of 1.2-litre VVT engine and a 1.2-litre Dualjet engine with SHVS mild-hybrid technology. The VVT engine offers maximum power of 82 bhp and peak torque of 113 Nm. Similarly, the Dualjet engine gives 89 bhp of peak power and maximum torque of 113 Nm.

Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno costs between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 9.45 lakh. It is offers in 9 variants. The base model is Baleno Sigma and costs Rs 5.99 lakh while the Baleno Alpha CVT is the top model and costs Rs 9.45 lakh. While the ARAI mileage for the automatic is 19.56 kmpl, the manual version gives 23.87 kmpl.

Just like it current generation, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be available in Nexa dealership across India. The 2022 Maruti Baleno will continue to compete with some of the popular premium hatchbacks like Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, Honda Jazz etc.
