Tata Punch EV to Mahindra XUVe.8: 5 new electric cars to launch in 2024

The Indian automobile market will witness an array of new electric vehicles in the upcoming year 2024. The list includes some that are highly awaited and some very affordable models. So, here is a list of some of the affordable new electric cars to launch in 2024.
Upcoming Electric cars in 2024
Mahindra XUVe.8
Mahindra could launch it’s electric iteration of the XUV700, which will be called XUVe.8 at the end of 2024. The EV will feature a futuristic-looking exterior design with a closed-off grille, new LED headlights, and connected LED DRLs at the front and an updated interior.
The Mahindra XUVe.8 has been confirmed to come with a dual-motor setup with an all-wheel-drive configuration with an 80 kWh battery. The all-electric drivetrain could make around 230 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. Reports have suggested that the company could be launching this EV SUV starting at Rs 35 lakh.
Tata Punch EV
The trusted manufacturer of the country, Tata Motors will bring the electric version of the most popular micro-SUV, Tata Punch in 2024. The electric Tata Punch micro SUV will be launched in the first quarter of next year. The new Punch EV will come with a new design compared to the outgoing ICE model. It will feature a brand new set of LED headlights with connected DRLs, new connected LED taillights, a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a upgrade to the interior. It will likely be offered with a the same EV powertrain as the Tata Tiago EV.
The Tata Punch EV will pack a 24 kWh battery pack with an MIDC-certified range of 315 km. Tata might also offer a smaller 19.2 kWh battery pack with an MIDC-certified range of 250 km.
The Punch EV could come in the price range of Rs 9.5 lakh to Rs 12.5 lakh.
Tata Altroz EV
Another EV Tata Motors is going to launch is the Altroz EV. The premium hatchback’s EV could also be launching this EV hatchback next year. It is expected to be equipped with the same powertrain as the Tata Punch EV and Tiago EV. Reports have suggested that the company is aiming to offer around 500 km of range with this premium EV hatchback. It will be come with a price range of around Rs 10-12.5 lakh.
Tata Curvv EV coupe SUV
The third electric car offering from Tata Motors in 2024 is the Curvv coupe SUV. This new model will reportedly arrive with the new Nexon EV facelift’s EV drivetrain. But with a higher range of around 500 kms in a single full charge. Reports have also suggested that apart from the electric powertrain, it will be available in two other powertrain options.
The Curvv EV could also come with a 30 kWh battery pack, and a larger 40.5 kWh battery with a expected range of 325 km and 465 km range, respectively. It has been reported that it could also get the same V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) charging capabilities of Nexon EV. The Curvv EV could be placed in the range of Rs 18-20 lakh.
Citroen C3 Aircross EV
French automaker Citroen is planning to introduce the electric version of the Citroen C3 Aircross EV in 2024 as well. The EV won’t have the same 29.2 kWh battery with its EV hatchback sibling eC3. It will likely be equipped with a bigger 40 kWh battery pack that will offer a range of around 400 km in a single full charge.
The Citroen C3 Aircross is currently India’s most affordable compact SUV. So, it is expected to be an affordable offering with a price range of Rs 15 to 20 lakh.
