Royal Enfield launches Shotgun 650 in India; Prices start at Rs 3.59 lakh

Royal Enfield has launched its fourth 650cc segment motorcycle in India and it is none other than the Shotgun 650. Royal Enfield had showcased the Shotgun 650 during the launch of the Himalayan 450 at the Motoverse 2023 event. It is needless to mention that Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is based on the Super Meteor 650. The price of the Shotgun 650 starts at Rs 3.59 lakh and this makes it the second most premium motorcycle offered by the company.

According to Royal Enfield, the Shotgun 650 is heavily inspired from custom bike building space. It does not fit into any conventional genre of motorcycling.

Even though the Shotgun 650 is based on the Super Meteor 650, there are visible differences. The motorcycle offers different wheel sizes. While the front wheel is 18 inches, the rear wheel is 17 inches. The Super Meteor on the other hand, offers 19 inches front wheel and 16 inches rear wheel. The seat height is the Shotgun 650 is 795mm while the Super Meteor has a seat height of 740mm. The fuel tank of the motorcycle is 13.8-litre.

We get a 6-speed gearbox that is paired with a slip and assist clutch. We get a 648cc engine that offers 47hp and 52.3Nm of torque (which is same as that of the other 650s). The engine case of the motorcycle is painted in black and this goes quite well with the design of the motorcycle. The bike is offered in a single seat variant as well as with rear seat option. However, the buyers are free to install a rear rack instead of a rear seat in order to carry luggage on the motorcycle.

The motorcycle has a kerb weight of 240kg and is just 1 kg lighter than the Super Meteor (which weighs 241kg). When it comes to breaking, the motorcycle gets 320mm front disc along with 300mm rear disc. When it comes to ABS, we get Dual channel ABS as standard.
