Piaggio India has set the stage for the debut of the highly anticipated Aprilia RS 457 at the upcoming India Bike Week 2023 on December 8th, according to an official announcement. Priced competitively below Rs 4 lakh, the motorcycle is poised to compete with prominent rivals such as the KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310, and the upcoming Yamaha R3.

Produced at Piaggio’s Baramati plant, the Aprilia RS 457 represents the brand’s inaugural motorcycle production in India. Although designed and developed in Italy, the bike falls into the premium motorcycle category, showcasing a blend of international design and Indian manufacturing expertise.

The Aprilia RS 457 is powered by a robust 457 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel-twin engine, delivering an impressive 47 bhp. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, promising a dynamic riding experience.

The motorcycle features a twin-spar aluminum frame, emphasizing both strength and agility. It is equipped with USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear, ensuring optimal handling on the road.

Drawing inspiration from its larger counterpart, the RS 457 boasts a design influenced by the RS 660. Distinctive features include sharp LED daytime running lamps and an assertively designed full fairing, creating an eye-catching and aerodynamic profile.

Embracing its sport bike identity, the RS 457 is designed with clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs, contributing to an aggressive riding triangle for enhanced performance.

The motorcycle is equipped with disc brakes at both ends, complemented by a dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) for optimal safety and control.

Featuring a 5-inch colored TFT screen as the instrument cluster, the RS 457 provides essential information for the rider. It incorporates ride-by-wire technology, offering three levels of traction control and three distinct riding modes.

While Aprilia has introduced the RS 457 in various international markets, its exclusive distribution in India will be through the upscale Motoplex dealerships. Positioned as a premium offering, the pricing reflects the motorcycle’s advanced features and performance capabilities, distinguishing it from budget-friendly competitors like KTM’s RC 390.
