Hero is reportedly working on a new 200cc motorcycle. A new patent, which is believed to be of the rumored 200cc bike has leaked online. Thanks to the patent, we got a chance to take a glimpse of the bike.

The bike seems like an upgraded version of the Xtreme 160R, and perhaps this new bike could fill the void left by the erstwhile Xtreme 200R.

While, the engine dimensions and the design of the kick-starter seems to be similar to that of the Xpulse 200 models. The design of the exhaust system resembles to the recently updated Xpulse 200T. The motorcycle may have a 4-valve engine that will produce roughly 19hp and 17Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. These numbers would place it almost level with the segment leader, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

The headlight unit and the shroud around it appear very similar to that of Xtreme 160R. It also has similar fuel tank, side panels and seat as the Xtreme 160R.

The headlight unit and the shroud around it appear very similar to that seen on the Xtreme 160R, though a little more refined. The ergonomics, with a flat, wide handlebar and slightly rearset footpegs also match with it. However, it is seen to have a wider, more encapsulating belly pan, and wider, sharper panels flanking the rear seat.

But despite these similarities, this new bike might not be called the Xtreme 200R. Reports suggest that it could be called by an iconic nametag from the past, perhaps something like Hero Hunk 200. The bike will a single-downtube frame suspended on a telescopic fork and a monoshock, with a box-section swingarm. It is expected to run on 17-inch alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends.
