German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has launched AMG G 63 Grand Edition in India. The SUV is limited to only 25 units for sale in India. A total of 1000 units are available for sale across the globe. The price of the special edition SUV is Rs 4 crore (ex-showroom, India) and its deliveries will be made at the beginning of Q1 2024.
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that generates 585hp of power and 850Nm of peak torque. The engine is same as the regular AMG G 63 SUV. The company claims that the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds. The top speed of the special edition SUV is 220 kmph.
The SUV gets cosmetic update in the form of exclusive Kalahari Night Black Magno colour with gold graphics.
On the outside, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition gets Kalahari Gold Magno highlights on the bumpers as well as spare wheel cover. The special edition gets AMG forged alloy wheels that are of 22-inches and are finished with Tech Gold. On the other hand the brake calipers are red in colour. The Mercedes logo and the AMG logo are offered in Kalahari gold mango colour, which makes it quite unique.
In the interior the Grand Edition gets all-black interior with gold highlights. There are Nappa leather seats with gold stitching, 3-spoke AMG performance steering wheel as well as AMG emblems on door trims. The AMG logo that is present on the seats is rendered in gold while there is gold edging on the backrests. The floor mats are also black coloured and get gold stitching.
In order to get the SUV, a buyer has to be an owner of the Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-AMG, or an S-Class. This means that there will be few people who can purchase the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition in India.
