Maruti Suzuki did taste the success of Grand Vitara SUV and now the automaker is planning to upgrade the safety features of the SUV. According to the latest reports, the Grand Vitara SUV will receive ADAS safety features very soon. This safety upgrade will help the automaker to compete with SUVs like Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate as well as facelift Creta. As the Maruti Grand Vitara is upgraded with ADAS safety tech, we can expect the same for the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

Maruti Suzuki might launch the ADAS equipped Grand Vitara by the first quarter of next financial year, reported sources. However, as the safety features on the car are increased we might expect a price rise of Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 on the specific variants. Given the enhanced safety offered on the car, we hope that it would be ok with the customers.

The Grand Vitara might be equipped with the level 2 ADAS system and it will offer controlled steering, acceleration, braking as well as autonomous obstacle avoidance. The inclusion of level 2 ADAS is not new among the Indian car manufacturers. Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra have already used level 2 ADAS.

Even though Maruti had planned to roll out ADAS upgrade for its SUV in 2023, it was not successful due to the semiconductor shortage. However, the issue has been taken care of and production will be streamlined.
