Hyundai i20 gets new Sportz (O) variant in India; Price starts at Rs. 8.73 lakh

A new variant of the Hyundai i20 hatchback has been introduced in India. Named Hyundai i20 Sportz (O), the new variant has a starting price of Rs. 8.73 lakh (ex-showroom). It is based on the Sportz trim and powered by a 1.2-litre NA petrol motor that produces 82bhp and 115Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual and an iVT unit.

Hyundai offers it with a manual gearbox across single and dual-tone colour options. The single tone option is priced at Rs. 8.73 lakh (ex-showroom), while the dual tone one cost a little bit more at Rs. 8.88 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new variant of the i20 hatchback costs Rs. 35,000 more than the standard Sportz trim because it gets three new addition of an electric adjustable sunroof, a wireless charger, and a leatherette finish on the door armrests. The other features of the new variant is the same as the Sportz such as Smartphone Connectivity – Apple Carplay & Android Auto, 20.32 cm (8″) touchscreen infotainment system, Digital cluster with TFT multi information display (MID), USB connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity and voice recognition.

It gets airbags for driver, passenger, side and curtain side. The safety features include Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with EBD, Electronic stability control (ESC), Puddle lamps, Hill-start assist control (HAC), rear parking sensors, Emergency stop signal, Automatic headlamps, keyless entry, central locking, Vehicle stability management control (VSM), and others.

Apart from the new Sportz (O), the i20 is offered in five trims options. The trims are named  Era, Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O). The price of the sports ranges from Rs. 7.04 lakh to Rs. 11.21 lakh (ex-showroom).
