Hero Motocorp files a trademark for Nightster 440 nametag in India

Harley Davidson is working on a new 440cc bike, which is expected to be the Harley Davidson Nightster 440. It could be another product of Harley Davidson and Hero MotoCorp partnership. The Nightster 440′ name tag was recently filed for trademark by Hero MotoCorp in India.

It is not the first time the Harley-Davidson has the Nightster moniker. It already has a larger liquid-cooled Nightster powered by a 975cc liquid-cooled V-twin that’s derived from the Pan America’s 1,250cc mill. This bike comes under the Harley’s ‘Sport’ line-up. So, the upcoming Nightster 440 by Hero and Harley will likely be a sportier motorcycle than the X440.

The Nightster 440 would be the second model co-developed by Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp.

According to reports, it could be a new variant of the recently launched Harley-Davidson X440. Thew upcoming Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 could be based on the same platform as the X440. However, the designs could be from the brand’s global Nightster models.

The upcoming Nightster 440 will likely get low and wide handlebars offering a sporty riding posture, bar-end mirrors and a headlamp shroud. It could be powered by the same 440cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine as the X440, which produces 27 BHP and 38 Nm.
