2022 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports launched in India, Know price and booking details  

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the new Africa Twin Adventure Sports in India. The 2022 Africa Twin 1100 gets some upgrades including some hardware and software changes. It is important to note that the 2022 Africa Twin is available in both manual as well as automatic variants.

Engine

The Honda Africa Twin gets a 1082.96cc liquid cooled twin cylinder engine that has 8 valves. The engine generates a peak power of 99.2hp and a maximum torque of 103Nm. The version launched in India has slightly less power (1.5hp less) than the international model. The engine is coupled with either a manual gearbox or an automatic gearbox. The manual gearbox is a 6-speed gearbox unit while the automatic is a dual-clutch DCT automatic gearbox.

Electronics and connectivity

The Adventure Sports motorcycle gets a touchscreen of 6.5 inches that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The windscreen is lower than its predecessor and can be adjusted in five positions. The new Africa Twin gets dual channel ABS, Bluetooth connectivity, traction control, rider assists etc.

Important features

In terms of riding modes, the motorcycle gets four riding modes- Tour, Urban, Gravel and Off-road. The riders also get two customisable modes on the bike. The LED headlamps on the bike also have cornering function while will of great help during off-roading or touring. The Adventure Sports bike gets a massive fuel tank of 24.5 litres along with tubeless spoked tyres.

Price and colours

The 2022 Honda Africa Twin is priced above Rs 16 lakh. The manual gearbox variant costs Rs 16.01 lakh (ex-showroom) while the automatic variant costs Rs 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings for the new Africa Twin have already started. The MT variant will be available in Pearl Glare White Tri colour while the AT will be available in Matt Ballistic Black Metallic colour.

The motorcycle will be available in BigWing dealerships across selected cities including Gurugram (Haryana), Mumbai (Maharashtra), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Kochi (Kerala), Hyderabad (Telangana) and Chennai (Tamil Nadu).
