Puri: In an electrical mishap a technician was killed during repairing of a transformer located near Sadar Police Station in Puri district.
The identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
As per the report, the victim was part of a team of electricians engaged by the electricity department to repair transformers badly damaged by the cyclone Fani recently. He suffered electric shock atop the defunct transformer while the repairing work was underway and died on the spot.
Death of the colleague sparked resentment among the electricity Department staff and they blamed the authorities for their negligence.
The deceased has been sent for autopsy and the matter is under investigation by police.
