Veteran Odia movie actor Debu Bose passes away at 77

Bhubaneswar: Veteran Odia movie and television actor Debu Bose passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad following a prolonged illness on Wednesday night. He was 77 at the time of death.

Bose had been admitted to the hospital after a cardiac illness and remained under treatment for last four months. Lately, he had been put under life support system due to deteriorating condition.

The iconic actor who had left a vaccum in Odia movie industry behind, acted in over 120 movies during his career which he started with acting in ‘Tapasya’ movie. In last four decades Bose became a household name among movie-goers and carved out a special place in the hearts of his fans by his roles as father in a majority of flicks.

Bose’s roles in Pua Mora Kala Thakura, Phula Chandana, Suna Chadhei, Samay Kheluchi Chaka Bhanunri had given him a special identity among all his contemporary actors.

Ollywood movie fraternity had expressed its deep condolence in the veteran actor’s death and dubbed it as an irreparable loss.
