Beware smartphone users! Do not install these apps on your phone, Your bank password might be stolen

Now-a-days, everybody has one or two smartphones and we have many types of apps that helps us do numerous things like calling, messaging, and banking.

However, you need pay attention to apps that you are downloading and installing on your phone as some of these apps may contains Trojan virus, which helps hackers to steal your bank account details.

According to a new report, researchers have found that over 300,000 Android users downloaded apps that contained banking trojan malware after it managed to bypass the Google Play Store’s security.

These banking trojan malware can steal users’ banking passwords, two-factor authentication code, and send the information to hackers. So, if you have downloaded all these apps, then your account is at the risk of being hacked.

Researchers at ThreatFabric found that common apps such as QR code readers, PDF4 scanners, document scanners, fitness monitors, and cryptocurrency trading platforms may contain the dangerous malware.

Hackers have managed to make harmful versions of these apps that look just as like the genuine ones. These fake apps, contain 4 forms of malware. One of these malware can steal your bank password, account details and email ID passwords.

The most common malware of the four is called Anatsa, which is also dubbed as an “advanced” banking trojan because it can steal usernames, passwords of the user’s internet banking services by enable accessibility logging on the phone, so everything that is happening on the phone’s screen is captured. It also has a keylogger that can record all information that the user enters on the phone, such as passwords. Researchers said that it has been downloaded by more than 200,000 Android users.

As per reports, it is also known as the Alien Android Banking Trojan Alien, which is also capable of securing two-factor authentication. The apps which has the virus, has already been downloaded 75,000 times from the Google Play Store. ThreatFabric has recently filed a complaint with Google about the malware. Now it is expected that Google will take strict action against the app.

Hence, every time you download an application you should be cautious about it and check it carefully before the download to avoid installing these trojan malware.
