Twitter Verification that adds a Blue Tick to Profiles restarts today

Good News Twitter Account Holders! If you have been eagerly waiting to verify your Account with a Blue Tick badge, then you are all set to go. Twitter has started the Blue Tick verification process starting from Today, 22 January 2021. In the year 2017, Twitter had stopped the public verification process owing to perception problem and complaints that the company was being biased in terms of giving out the blue tick.

“This perception became worse when we opened up verification for public submissions and verified people who we in no way endorse,” Twitter had said back then and had informed that it would review some of the accounts that were verified earlier. Now with the process restarting, the Twitter Account holders can apply for getting a verification badge by the mirco-blogging site. In their application, the users have to choose a category and share some links and other supporting documents that Twitter would require to complete the verification process.

Now there must be one question in everyone’s mind that how one account will qualify for verification! According to Twitter, Accounts which are active can only apply for verification and the company will remove the verification badge from all Inactive Accounts. In order to get verified, an account must represent or be associated with a well recognised brand or individual.

Initially, people working in  government sectors, Brands, Non Profit organisations, News, Internet, Sports, and Well known companies can apply for verification. Besides, journalists, entertainment personalities, sports personalities, activists, organisers, and other influential individuals can also apply for verification of their own Twitter accounts.
