Dhenkanal: Preparations for the famous Gajalaxmi Puja in Dhenkanal reached the final stage today with Puja Committees giving finishing touches to the pandals. The 10-day-long celebration would witness 42 idols this year.
While the rituals for the puja would start at around 7.30 pm today, devotees were seen making a beeline at the pandals since morning to get a glimpse of the attractive gates and flashy decorations. With the beginning of puja rituals in the evening, Dhenkanal town would be illuminated with a 7 km-long lighting arrangement made by puja organizers which is expected to be a major attraction for visitors this year.
District and police administration have made ample security arrangements in the town to make the puja a hassle-free affair this year.
The 10-day-long puja celebration would conclude on October 15 and the immersion ceremony would be held on October 16.
