Jharsuguda: Police today cracked the alleged daylight robbery from a trader in the town which took place on Thursday and said that the case was false.
Shankar Kedia, owner of ‘Sheraya Traders’ has alleged that three miscreants have looted Rs 10.45 lakh at gunpoint in his godown near the bypass.
Police said that they went through the CCTV footage of the nearby areas but did not found any suspicious movement. “Besides we interrogated the employees of the godown and found mismatch in their statements. The complainant finally confessed that he has staged the plot to evade tax,” said Jharsuguda SP, Aswini Kumar Mohanty.
Police also said that they will initiate action against Kedia for lodging false complaint. “We will soon move to the court seeking action against the trader as per law,” added Mohanty.
