Odisha CM approves Rs 25.40 cr for 123 GPs under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved Rs 25.40 crore to be spent for 1,021 development projects in 123 gram panchayats (GPs) of six districts in the state under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme (Our village, Our development).

Bargarh, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Nabarangpur and Mayurbhanj are the six districts were the projects will be implemented.

According to reports, Patnaik sanctioned Rs 2.40 crore for 106 projects in 14 panchayats of Chandahandi block in Nabarangpur district and Rs three crore for 110 projects in 12 panchayats of Bijatola block in Mayurbhanj district.

Similarly, Rs 4 crore has been sanctioned for 178 projects in 23 panchayats of Bijeur block in Baragarh district, Rs 3.75 crore for 207 projects in 19 panchayats of Raghunathpur block in Jagatsinghpur district, Rs 5.75 crore for 234 projects in 29 panchayats of Dhenkanal Sadar block in Dhenkanal district and Rs 6.50 crore for 186 projects in 26 panchayats of the Kanhia block in Angul district.

Till date the CM has approved 26,587 projects worth Rs 656.90 crore in 2,850 gram panchayats of 30 districts under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme which was launched on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, which is observed as Panchayati Raj Day in the state every year.
