Dhenkanal: A man hung himself to death after hacking his wife to death following a family feud in Khalapala village under Balimi police limits in the district on Thursday.
The deceased duo has been identified as Sudhakar Badia and his wife Sili Badia.
As per the neighbours of the deceased couple, a heated argument erupted between Sudhakar and his wife over some issue in the morning. As the argument escalated further the accused took out an axe and hacked his wife in a fit of rage killing her on the spot.
The accused committed suicide later by hanging him from the ceiling of his house by a rope to evade arrest by police.
Balimi Police reached the spot after getting intimation on the incident and rushed the bodies for autopsy.
An investigation is underway in the case.
