Soro: An elderly man was killed after being struck by a speeding bike on NH-16 near Soro Weekly Cattle Market in the district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Ghanshyam Parida of Barabati area in Balasore district.
Ghanshaym who ran a shop in the market was trying to cross the National Highway this morning while a speeding bike coming from Balsore hit them from behind. Ghanshyam who sustained severe injury in his head was rushed to Soro CHC by some fellow traders immediately. However, he died under treatment at the hospital.
Soro Police have arrested the accused bike rider and seized his vehicle.
