Bhubaneswar: With the world celebrating the New Year 2018 with much pomp and gaiety today, and people dipped in revelry with a lot of fireworks and merry making everywhere, renowned academician and founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta has also wished for a great year ahead.
Taking to his twitter route, Dr Samanta prayed to the almighty for prosperity of all.

Meanwhile, lakhs of devotees turned up at the Sri Jagannath temple in the Puri this morning and took darshan of the deities. Thousands also took dip at the sea beach in the town to start their year with a new spirit and with blessings of God.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is also scheduled to visit the temple later in the day to perform darshan of the holy Trinity to start his year.
In a tweet, Naveen on Sunday wished people in the state a happy and prosperous new year.
