India beat Argentina 2-1 in Champions Trophy-2018

Breda: India defeated Olympic champions Argentina 2-1 to register their second consecutive victory in the Champions Trophy hockey tournament here on Sunday.

Harmanpreet Singh gave India the lead off a penalty corner in the 17th minute and Mandeep Singh doubled the advantage with a field goal in the 28th minute.

For Argentina, Matias Paredes converted a penalty to goal in the 30th minute to reduce the margin.

Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patanik, who led the trend HockeyForNationalGame, took to the twitter handle and congratulated the team India.


India had yesterday thrashed arch-rivals Pakistan 4-0 in their inaugural match. They will take on Australia in the next match at 6.30 PM on June 27.
