Election in 3 NACs in Odisha to be Held on April 3

Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission, Odisha on Tuesday announced the election schedule for three Notified Area Councils (NACs) i.e. Hindol, Attabira and Nuapada in the state to be held on April 3.

In a press release, the Commission said the detailed election process will be notified at the respective local urban body on March 9, 2018.

The aspiring candidates can file their nominations before the concerned electoral officer between 11AM and 3 PM from March 13 to 17, 2018.

The nominations will be scrutinised on March 19, while the deadline for withdrawing the nominations has been set at 3 PM on March 22, 2018.

The polling will be held between 8 AM and 5 PM on April 3, while the votes will be counted and the results will be declared on April 5.

The elections for the office of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of these three urban bodies will be held on April 12 and 30 respectively.

A total of 13,205 voters will cast their franchise at 12 Wards in Attabira NAC in Bargarh district, while 9,407 voters will vote at 16 Wards in Hindol NAC in Angul district and 12,147 voters will vote at 14 Wards in Nuapada NAC.

Earlier on the day, an all-party meeting, headed by the State Election Commissioner Naba Kumar Nayak, was held here for smooth, free and fair conduct of elections in three NACs. The delegations of as many as 11 political parties were present in the meeting.
