Khordha: The menace of videos and photos of intimate moments between couples going viral on social media continues unabated in Odisha with one fresh report coming from Deulitangi in Kaipadar area of the district.
According to reports, one Susant Sethy was in relation with a +3 first year student of Begunia College who happened to be his distant relative. Sethy was staying in the girl’s village.
However, the college girl reportedly eloped with the accused a week ago after her family members protested their relationship.
Though the whereabouts of the girl and boy are yet to be known, some of their obscene pictures were doing rounds on Facebook, following which the girl’s father filed an FIR against the accused boy and his father at Begunia police station today.
Police have initiated an investigation into the matter and launched a man haunt to trace the absconding love birds.
This is the third such incident in the state in the last six days.
The incidents of obscene videos and photos going viral have become a great challenge for the state police. It became a focal point of discussion during the three-day 60th Senior Police Officers’ Conference which concluded today.
DGP RP Sharma had also issued strict directives and notifications in this connection; however, they did not have any impact and helped the police in curbing such cases in the state.
