Maruti Suzuki recalls 16,000 units of Baleno and Wagon R in India; Know why

Maruti Suzuki, India’s one of the largest carmaker, has announced the recall of nearly 16,000 units of its popular Baleno and Wagon R models. The recall announcement was made on March 22 for over 11,851 units of the Baleno and 4,190 units of the Wagon R. According to the company, the recall has been made over a possible defect in a part of the fuel pump motor.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Wagon R manufactured between 30th July and 1st November, 2019 will be affected by this recall. The owners of these mentioned models will be contacted by the authorised dealer workshops of Maruti Suzuki for repair. The defective part will be replaced at no extra cost.

According to the automobile manufacturer, the defective fuel pump can cause engine stalling or engine starting issues. Maruti Suzuki authorised dealer workshops will contact the affected vehicle owners will for the replacement of the part which will be done for free.

Meanwhile, the Baleno and the Wagon R are also getting discounts of up to Rs 57,000 and Rs 65,000 during March 2024. The benefits offered include cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate discounts. Eligible customers can get the benefits and offers till the end of this month.

Note that the offers might vary depending on the variant, colour, powertrain, dealership, and other factors.
