Students in South Korea have sued government claiming that their college entrance examination ended 90 seconds earlier than scheduled time

Seoul: Some students in South Korea have sued government claiming that their college entrance examination ended 90 seconds earlier than scheduled time.

The college admission exam Suneung, is eight hour long marathon college scholastic ability test. It is one of the most difficult exam in the world. It not only determines university placements and jobs but even marriage.

The results of this difficult exam were released on Dec 8.

Later, atleast 39 students filed a lawsuit at the Seoul Central district court demanding 20 million won (equivalent to $ 15,400 ) each as compensation.

The students claimed the bell rang earlier during Korean the first subject of the exam at the capital Seoul. Some students protested and the supervising persons took away the papers. The teachers then realised the mistake before the next session began and granted them one and half minutes during the lunch break.

But the students could mark blank columns left on the paper and were not able to change any existing answers.

The students were so upset that they could not focus on the rest of the exam and returned back home.
