Hindu Goddess Saraswati, the provider of education, was worshipped in Dubai. On the Saraswati Puja day on Tuesday the Odia society of Dubai organized worship of the Goddess and celebrated together in a divine atmosphere.
Worship of Goddess Saraswati, who is also known as Bakdevi (the Goddess who provides power to speak) took place at the auditorium of Yahaa residency where around 150 nonresident Odias (NRO) took part.
The platform was decorated with colourful flowers. The worship was performed amid sounds of the divine hulahuli (vocal sound women produce in respect of the God/Goddess), conch, cymbals, and bells. The devotees offered flowers to the Goddess and later consumed the offering together.
On this occasion, some NROs also performed devotional songs. Every year the Odia society of Dubai celebrates festivals like Pausha Purnima, Nuakhai, Ganesh puja and bhai jiuntia in Dubai with all fanfare.
