Israel-Gaza conflict: Israeli Defence Minister alerts troops to be ready for Ground Invasion

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant told hundreds of thousands of the country's ground troops to get ready to invade the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has issued a warning to the country’s ground troops to prepare for a potential invasion of the Gaza Strip. This comes as Israeli fighter jets conducted new airstrikes in the Hamas-controlled region.

Gallant met with infantry soldiers stationed along the Gaza Border, urging them to “get organised and be ready.” However, he did not specify the timing of a potential invasion.

He stated, “Whoever sees Gaza from afar now will see it from the inside. I promise you.”

In response to Hamas’s October 7 attack that resulted in the deaths of 1,400 people, mostly civilians, Israel has gathered over 300,000 troops along the border.

The Israeli military has confirmed the approval of operational plans and the deployment of forces in preparation for further conflict.

Yaron Finkelman, Commanding Officer of the Southern Command, visited units stationed in the southern area and gave his approval for attack plans.

Finkelman emphasized that the upcoming operations would take the conflict into Gaza territory and are expected to be protracted and intense. The situation remains tense as both sides brace for potential further escalation.
