India Hands Over Body Of Pak National Who Died In Jaipur Jail

New Delhi: India handed over the body of a Pakistani National to Pak Rangers on Saturday evening via the Wagah-Attari border in Punjab.

As per intelligence sources, the body of Pak national Shakirullaha was handed over to Pakistan Rangers by Border Security Force (BSF) officials after beating the retreat ceremony, a part of which, ceremonial drill, was suspended by India during the repatriation of Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan on Friday.

Pakistani media reported that the family members of Shakirullah took his body for burial at his native village Daska in Sialkot.

Dr. Mohammad Faisal, spokesperson , Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs tweeted “Remains of Pakistani prisoner Shakriullah, stoned to death in Indian jail repatriated to Pakistan, no response to Pakistan ‘s request for post mortem judicial inquiry, Failure to protect basic human rights life of Pakistani in its prison raised questions Indian must answer”.


Noteworthy, Shakirullaha was lodged in Jaipur central jail and had reportedly died on February 20 following a dispute with the fellow prisoners.
