PM Modi To Lay Foundation Stone Of AK-47 Manufacturing Unit In Amethi Today
Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit Rahul Gandhi’s Constituency Amethi on Sunday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs 11, 856.47 crore.
This will be Modi’s first visit as Prime Minister to Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha constituency, which is a strong Congress bastion. At Amethi, the PM is also scheduled to dedicate Indo-Russia Rifles Private Limited, a joint venture (JV) between an ordnance factory and a Russian firm. It will manufacture Kalashnikov rifles (AK-47) in the Korwa ordinance factory in Amethi.
Besides, a steel processing unit in Jagdishpur worth Rs 9,200 crore will also be launched. The PM will also inaugurate the upgradation project of Amethi bus station and reconstruction of depot workshop worth Rs 496.80 crore, construction of rest houses and shops at Amethi bus station, worth Rs 139 crore and construction of the main building of primary health centre worth Rs. 167 crore.
Meanwhile, several Congress leaders alleged that in view of Modi’s visit, local administration was busy whitewashing the walls around rally venue at Kauhar in Amethi, which carried slogans calling local MP and Congress President Rahul Gandhi the ‘Future PM Of India.’
