It was a miracle as the trains were at a low speed and the 17 persons received minor injuries. The local firefighters were immediately pressed into action.
The train operator interacted with the media and said that since both the trains were at low speed, no serious injuries happened.
The Transport Minister Matteo Salvini added that the trains collided head-on in Italy were at low speed hence the damage caused was minimal.
