Extremely moved by global support: Kate Middleton after cancer revelation
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton and Prince William are both extremely moved about receiving support from people around the world following the revelation of cancer diagnosis, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace said in a statement.
“The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message,” the statement read.
The statement further said that Kate Middleton and Prince William are extremely touched by the public’s warmth and support and are grateful for being understanding of their request for privacy as she receives treatment.
It is worth mentioning here that Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, on Friday revealed she is currently undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
In an Instagram video shared by the Kensington Palace, “I am well and getting stronger every day.”
In the video, Kate shared that she started undertaking preventative chemotherapy after she had a major abdominal surgery back in January. It was only after the surgery it was revealed that the cancer was present. She said that the discovery came as a “huge shock.”
She began the video message saying, “I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding; whilst I have been recovering from surgery. It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.”
“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of the treatment,” she further said.
