Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today wished all the best to Odia girl Padmalaya Nanda, one of the finalists of the U-18 Miss Universe Contest, to win the title.
Patnaik, who handed a bouquet to Nanda, wished her for the final round of the beauty pageant to be held in Georgia, USA from May 31 to June 6.
“I am immensely happy that the Chief Minister met me and wished me for my future. I will do my best to be the winner of the competition and make Odisha proud gain,” said Nanda after meeting the Chief Minister.
The 12-year-old girl is one of the 16 contestants selected from around the world.
She was selected after she was crowned Little Miss at the Junior Model International crown at Kozhikode in Kerala on April 5.
The class VIII student of Stewart School in Cuttack also bagged three more titles: as the Best Ball Gown, Best Pre Teen JMI (Jury choice) and Best Pre Teen JMI (People’s choice) at the competition. She will leave for Georgia on May 25.
