OnePlus Nord 2 explodes during a phone call, user injured
OnePlus Nord 2 has exploded yet again while the user was on a phone call. The user has sustained injuries on his palm and face due to the explosion. This has added another case to the list of Nord 2 explosion cases been reported after its launch.
According to a Twitter post from ‘@lakshayvrm’, his brother’s OnePlusNord2 burst out in his hands while he was talking on phone. The Twitter user also said that the OnePlus Nord 2 unit damaged his brother’s palm and face after the explosion. OnePlus has responded to the incident and replied that it is investigating the matter on Twitter.
He further said that he went to the brand’s only store in New Delhi, Connaught Place, sales and service centre for resolution and they were asked to wait for 2-3 days. But, after 2-3 days, the company asked him to collect the exploded phone saying they cannot do anything.
According to reports, the complainant has now filed a case with the consumer court.
The Twitter user also shared a video on the platform which shows a damaged smartphone, that is claimed to be a OnePlus Nord 2 unit. The video also shows the shattered screen and fumes from the damaged smartphone. The exact cause of the explosion is yet to be known. On the other hand, OnePlus has not offered any clarity on the tweet or social media channels yet. However, it did responded to the incident and replied to the users tweet and promised to investigating the matter.
This is not the first time this type of incident has been reported.
In November last year, another Nord 2 user reported a similar incident in which the phone exploded in the user’s pocket. At that time, OnePlus beard his medical expenses and also gave him a new phone.
OnePlus launched Nord 2 in July 2021 with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset and a 6.43-inch FullHD+ AMOLED display that supports 90Hz refresh rate.The phone comes with a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery which supports 65W warp charging. It has 50MP triple rear camera set up along with a 32MP selfie lens.
