How to activate grammar check on Google Search

Google search Grammar check feature will see if a phrase or sentence is written in a grammatically correct way or how to correct it, if not.

Google has recently added a new Grammar check feature to it’s search engine ‘Google Search’. The new feature will let users check the grammar of the sentence they have typed or search on mobile and desktop.

Google Search already has many built-in tools including a dictionary, a metronome, and a multi-sided die. Now, the grammar checker has been added to the list.

According to Google, the grammar checker of the search engine will see “if a phrase or sentence is written in a grammatically correct way or how to correct it, if not.” However, the feature is currently not available for all languages. At the moment, the feature is only available in English.

How to activate the Grammar check feature on Google Search

In order to turn on the grammar checker ion the search engine, you need to do the following:

You need to add ‘ grammar check’, ‘check grammar’, or  ‘grammar checker ‘ while writing a sentence or phrase into Search.

You don’t always have to add that to the end of your query if it bother you. But by adding the phrase it does guarantee that Google activates the tool every time.

If the sentence is grammatically correct, the “Grammar Check” section/card that appears as the first result will show a green checkmark.

But, if there are some grammar errors, Google will rewrite the sentence and underline what it changed.

This tool will also correct any spelling mistakes. Hovering over the fixed version will reveal a ‘Copy’ button.

However, keep note that the tech giant warned that grammar checks “might not be 100 per cent accurate, especially with partial sentences”.

Google also welcomes Feedback by users if they face any issue while using the feature. Moreover, Grammar check will not be done if “the content might be in violation of Google Search’s overall policies or these policies for Search features”. It also covers dangerous, medical in nature, or contain “vulgar language and profanity inputs.

The support page for this feature first went live late last month.

Meanwhile, the Google search results for explicit imagery such as adult or graphic violent content, will now be blurred by default.

Google has also rolled out new features in Search to help users keep control of their personal information, privacy and online safety, which includes a feature that alerts users when their private contact info appears online.
