Google Assistant can now tell you a story on your Android & iOS

New Delhi: As per Google’s new update, Google Assistant on Android and iOS devices to read out stories (both regular and bedtime) in English to people in India, US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

Google on Saturday released its Tell Me a Story function to Google Assistant on all Android & iOS phones – previously it was only available on Google smart home products, but now you can have a bed-time story read to you on the go. This was announced on the occasion of National Tell a Story Day (April 27).

For the new Tell Me a Story feature to work, the Google Play Books app must first be installed on your iPhone or Android smartphone. Then, to listen to any random story, all you have to do is trigger Google Assistant on your phone and say, “Tell me a story”. This will prompt Google to read out stories like “Let’s Be Firefighters!” (Blaze and the Monster Machines), “Robot Rampage” (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and others.

The stories aren’t exactly complex works and also the story chosen is picked randomly. But its definitely fun and will take you back to childhood.
